Dr. Larissa has been passionate about animals for as long as she can remember. Growing up in Brazil with a home full of pets, she knew early on that veterinary medicine was her calling. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of São Paulo in 2019, then moved to Canada, where she gained experience at the University of Guelph before completing her Master’s degree at the University of Calgary. Larissa’s main interests lie in infectious diseases and surgery, but what she loves most is building relationships with pet owners and helping their beloved animals thrive. She also enjoys the fast-paced nature of emergency work, where no two days are ever the same. Amongst our team, Dr. Larissa is known for her infectious cheerfulness, especially in the mornings - she somehow manages to be the first one to bring sunshine to the clinic, even before the coffee kicks in. Her positive energy is the perfect way to start the day and keeps the team smiling all day long. When she's not at SAVE, Larissa enjoys dance classes, reading, and is excited to start swimming lessons soon.
